ZTE has just made a phone for lazy people that they can
control by simply barking orders. Meant as the successor to the first ZTE Star,
the Star 2 is a 5-inch phone that offers customers with extensive voice control
support.
Unlike other phones whose voice control support only applies
to certain apps, the Star 2’s voice interface is baked deep into the system. The
phone is always listening to the user and the voice command feature is active
even when the phone isn’t connected to the internet. In fact, ZTE claims the
Star 2 has a response time of 1.2 seconds and a success rate of 90% even in
noisy environments.
Specs-wise, the 5-inch display boasts Full HD resolution, a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM
and 16GB of expandable storage. There’s also a 13MP camera at the back with
dual-LED flash, a 5MP snapper at the front, a 2300mAh battery and 4G LTE
connectivity.
The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s
MiFavor 3.0 UI. Pricing will start at $402 with availability to be announced at
a later date.
