Intel is definitely getting more serious when it comes to
the development of wearable tech. Recent rumors suggested that the chipmaker is
working with Google to provide computing power with the next generation Google
Glass.
But aside from giving the new Google Glass more computing
power, it may also give it some chic. Intel has just signed a deal with the Luxottica
Group – the same company that signed a deal with Google just last March.
The specifics of the partnership aren’t available yet, but
the goal is to create premium, luxury and sports glasses that do more than just
keep your eyes covered. The first batch of wearable tech to come out of the
collaboration of the two companies is expected to be released in the market by
as early as next year.
