LG is taking its wearable tech business to new heights with
its second generation Watch Urbane which now has 4G LTE support making it the
first Android Wear device you can use even without a phone.
The watch is built around a 1.38-inch P-OLED panel that has
a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels (a step up from the 320 x 320 pixels from the
first generation urbane). It also has a Snapdragon 400 chipset with 768M of RAM
and 4GB of built-in storage.
As most smartwatches these days double as activity trackers,
the new Urbane also boasts a number of sensors including an accelerometer, a
gyro sensor, compass, barometer, a heart rate sensor and GPS. The watch is also
IP67 certified which means you can take it for a swim and water won’t get the
internals fried.
The watch’s battery is rated at 570mAh which hopefully will
last a day without needing a recharge. There’s no word yet on pricing and availability
as well.LG is taking its wearable tech business to new heights with
