Oppo’s R7 family has welcomed a new member this week – the R7
lite, which as the name suggests is a slightly watered down version of the R7.
The handset also has a 5-inch AMOLED panel but this time
around, the resolution has been downgraded from a 1080p resolution to 720p
(~284ppi). It still has a Snapdragon 615 chipset and 16GB of on-board storage
just like the base R7, but the RAM has been reduced from 3GB to 2GB.
Oppo has retained the 13MP+8MP camera combo from the R7 as
well as the 2320mAh battery that supports the company’s VOOC charger. The phone
is running on Android 5.1 with Color OS v2.1 on top.
The phone is expected to retail for around $280, which is a
tad cheaper to the base R7. Oppo hasn’t officially listed the device in its
online store but we should expect this status to change soon.
