Another Chinese smartphone maker has unveiled a new model in
its lineup this week. Following Meizu’s announcement of the MX5,
Huawei had their own press event for the announcement of the new Honor 7.
The phone all-metallic body is dominated by the 5.2-inch display that sports Full HD resolution. The Honor 7 also features the company’s own Kirin 935 chipset which comes with an octa-core processor in a big.LITTLE configuration, a Mali-T628 graphics card, 3GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage space.
There’s a 20MP sensor at the back with Phase detection
autofocus, dual-LED and dual-tone LED flash, and a layer of sapphire glass for
protection. The selfie snapper on the front boasts an 8MP sensor.
Other notable features of the handset include the 3100mAh
battery that supports fast charging, LTE Cat 6 connectivity, NFC and a
fingerprint scanner at the back just below the main camera and looks a lot like
that of the Mate 7.
The Huawei Honor 7 will be available starting July 7
initially China and will be offered for around $320 for the base 16GB version
(single SIM) and goes up to $400 for the 64GB dual-SIM model.
