Acer has just announced a couple of tablets this week that’s
heading to schools once they’re launched. The two tablets – the Iconia One 8
and Iconia One 10 will be joining other Android tablets in the Google Education
platform.
The Iconia One 8 is of course an 8-inch tablet with a
resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels featuring Acer’s Zero Air Gap technology and
sport an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and either a 16GB or 32GB of expandable
internal storage. It also has a 5MP rear camera with an 88-degree wide angle
lens and a VGA front-facing camera for selfies.
The tablet’s battery is said to last for 8.5 hours. It will
also sport Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and will run on Android 5.0
Lollipop.
Meanwhile, the Iconia One 10 sports a 10.1-inch display,
which boasts a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution with Zero Air Gap technology and is
protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 4.
Performance is supplied by an Intel Atom processor with a
1.83GHz quad-core processor complemented by 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of
expandable internal memory. It also comes with a 5MP rear camera just like it’s
smaller 8-inch sibling but comes with a much better front-facing camera with a
2MP sensor.
Connectivity-wise, the Iconia One 10 goes around with Wi-Fi
b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and NFC. As with the Iconia One 8, this tablet will also
run on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Battery life on the other hand has been reduced to
7.5 hours.
The Iconia One 8 will be available in North America starting
in July for $145 while the Iconia One 10 will be arriving next month for $299
with an optional stylus, protective film, bumper case, protective sleeve and
wireless keyboard dock.
