When Apple announced iOS last week at WWDC, a lot of people
were expecting to see the split-screen feature that was previously reported by
9to5Mac a few days before the event. However, the split-screen mode was a no-show.
Luckily, it looks like there’s still hope for this feature
to be activated on the final release of iOS 8. According to a developer named
Steve Troughton-Smith, the beta version of iOS 8 has hidden codes that pertain
to the split-screen feature, which could possibly be activated in the final
release of the OS.

According to the code, the split-screen mode will allow two
apps to run and be displayed side by side, with the second app displayed on
25%, 50% or 75% of the screen.
The final release of iOS 8 is expected to rollout sometime
in September or October, probably alongside the new iPhones. Nonetheless, this
is a good sign that Apple is working on making its products more useful and
competitive by adding more productivity features.
