LG’s curved smartphone – the G
Flex is finally getting an update. The Korean tech giant introduced the
second generation G Flex at this year’s CES in Las Vegas.
The phone comes with a 5.5-inch P-OLED panel with full HD
resolution. The screen is protected by LG’s own glass cover that is said to be
20% more durable than Gorilla Glass 3. Just like its predecessor, the G Flex 2
also features a self-healing back cover but has been improved for a faster
healing time.
Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip with
a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage.
On the camera-side, the G Flex 2 comes with a 13MP camera at
the back with similar features as that of the LG G3 including OIS+ and laser
autofocus. Selfie fans will also be happy by getting a 2.1MP snapper on the front
with Gesture shot feature that makes taking selfies by simply doing a gesture.
Connectivity-wise, the handset sport 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/ac,
Bluetooth 4.1 with Apt-X and microUSB 2.0 port with SlimPort for TV out. Power on
the other hand is supplied by a 3000mAh battery.
Another device making a surprise appearance at CES is WebOS
inside a LG G Watch R. The device was made in collaboration with Audi. The
watch will be used as an accessory to connected Audi vehicles providing users
with a way to control certain features of the car remotely such as unlocking
doors using the watch’s NFC.
The device is definitely based on the G Watch R but comes
with an upgraded feature set including a stainless steel back plate and
sapphire crystal face.
