We’ve already seen cameras that pack two camera sensors just
like the HTC One M8 and Evo 3D, but Huawei’s Honor 6 Plus is taking the idea of
dual-camera phones to a whole new level by using both cameras to greatly
improve the smartphone’s imaging performance.
Basically, the phone sports two 8MP cameras at the back,
which works simultaneously to provide users with SLR-grade photos up to 13MP in
size. On paper, the two cameras are able to capture light better compared to a
single sensor as well as bringing super-fast autofocus at just 0.1 seconds.
The Honor 6 Plus also comes with an extra processor called
ISP that works as a dedicated signal image processor to help crunch the numbers
for its two cameras. Furthermore, the added camera power allows the device to
shoot in low-light conditions and offers a number of camera effects including
3D and blue effects.
Other notable features of the handset include a Kirin 925
chip with an octa-core processor (A-15 and A7 CPUs), a Mali T628MP4 GPU, 3GB of
RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The display is a 5.5-inch IPS panel with
Full HD resolution and offers a 1500:1 contrast ratio and up to 85% color
saturation.
The front-facing camera has a 5MP sensor and the battery is rated at 3600mAh that should provide enough juice for the phone to last through the day. The phone will be offered in two versions in China that both packing 4G connectivity and two SIM card slots (though one model will only have 4G on one SIM) with price starting at $320.
