Remember that slip-up a few weeks ago where Lenovo’s newest 10-inch
ThinkPad tablet was prematurely posted on the website of the company’s Australian
arm?
Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer has officially announced
the ThinkPad 10 providing all the details about its specs which were pulled off
from its Australian website following the leak.
The tablet, just like other ThinkPad models will run on
Windows. It will be powered by a quad-core Intel Bay Trail processor and boasts
up to 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. The tab’s display will have a resolution of 1920 x 1200
pixels with an option for pen input. The ThinkPad 10 will also provide support
for TPM, 4G and fingerprint/Smart Card readers.
Lenovo is marketing the ThinkPad 10 as an all-rounder device
by offering accessories that allow the tablet to transform based on customers’
needs and preferences.
For starters, there’s a $129 keyboard case for the mobile hard worker that features Chiclet-style keys, a multi-touch trackpad and a slot for the stylus. There’s also the chic but productive folio case that sports a thinner profile than the keyboard case and comes with a pen holster for $119.
There’s also a dock that comes with three USB 3.0 ports, an
HDMI out and Ethernet jack for those who want to use their ThinkPad 10 as a hub
for their other devices. And lastly, there’s the $59 Quickshot case for those
who want to use the tablet for taking photos.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 10 will be available starting in June
for an estimated retail price of $499.
